Ferrero Sends Nutella Fans Nuts
Nutella has people around the world licking their spoons and coating toast in the chocolatey goodness, but now some fans are left furious over the recipe change. With more sugar, more powdered milk and LESS cocoa, the amount of unhappy consumers does not come as a huge surprise.
The new information was revealed by Hamburg Consumer Protection Centre who posted the discovery on Facebook. Nutella, owned by Ferrero, now contains 56.3 percent sugar up from the previous 55 percent, additionally, the company spotted a rise in powdered skimmed milk from 7.5 percent to 8.7 percent.
Due to the new lighter appearance of the cocoa-hazelnut blend it is suspected that the extra milk comes at the expense of cocoa.
A social media representative for the company took to Twitter to explain themselves, they said: "our recipe underwent a fine-tuning and continues to deliver the Nutella fans know and love with high quality ingredients"
